Rules and Regulations

    • All participating boats must be registered prior to the parade.
    • All entrants must have liability and boat insurance.
    • Entrant is one who registers boat in parade.
    • Entrant must be 21 or older. (ID will be required)
    • Boat must be motorized.
    • Boat registration numbers must be visible (Do Not Cover).
    • Boat must be able to pass safely under the 10ft. bridge on the parade route.
    • Registered boats brought to The Marina at Cape Harbour by land may use the ramp starting at 12:30 PM on the 25th. Parking of trailers will be determined by The Marina at Cape Harbour. Contact The Marina at Cape Harbour office upon arrival.
    • Boats should not impede the traffic flow of boats entering or exiting the lock.
    • Parade will start at 2:00 PM.
    • Bull horn will be sounded to announce starting of parade.
    • All registered boats are to line up behind lead boat which will be designated with a sign.
    • All boats must proceed up the Blue Jay Canal in single file.
    • NO WAKE is mandatory for parade route.
    • Boats creating a wake will be eliminated from awarding of treasures.

    • In case of mechanical breakdown, boat should move away from the parade route allowing boats to continue with the procession of the parade.
    • Boats must follow lead boat and return to The Marina at Cape Harbour to pass judging booth.
    • Upon passing judging booth hold up your judging numbers given to you upon registration.
    • Rumrunners dock parking is designated for dining customers only.
    • Boats wishing to stay for showing of placement are welcome to go through the lock and tie up to the wall on your immediate right.
    • Placement of treasure winners will be displayed on Pirates in Paradise results board.
    • Winners booty bags may be found at table next to results board.
    • Winners must be 21 or over. (ID will be required.)
    • Any rule changes will be announced at the Captain’s Meeting. Entrants are responsible for being well informed of all the rules.
    •  On Cape Harbour property all entrants and crew need to wear shoes (flip flops qualify as shoes.)
    • Safety should always come first.
    • Courtesy and respect are expected !

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED to attend The Captain's Meeting in person, with photo ID, and sign the official version of the ENTRY WAIVER FORM, the text of which is displayed below. The text below IS NOT the official entry waiver form. This text is provided below ONLY to give participants the opportunity to review the form contents before completing and signing at The Captain's Meeting on October 24, 2008. The official entry waiver form IS ONLY available at The Captain's Meeting on October 24, 2008, and will not be available to the public before this meeting.

TEXT of the Entry Agreement & Waiver:

Participants agree to be bound by and comply with all parade rules and regulations as published and amended. It is understood that all participants enter at their own risk. All organizers, sponsors, official, committee members, and all persons directly or indirectly connected with the operation of the parade shall be exempt from any liability for loss, damage, negligence, harm, or injury suffered by a participant, entrant, his companions, boat captains, crew members, vessels, and equipment which may occur during the parade.

Participation in the Pirates in Paradise Boat Parade shall automatically imply full acceptance of the above disclaimer of liability and as the boat owner, entrant, participant, captain and companions accept full and all liability or responsibilities caused.

"I, (Your Name), as the entrant for our boat have read, understand and agree to the above and to the supplemented rules received by me. I assume responsibility for informing the boat owner, participants, captain and companions of the Entry Agreement, Waiver and information within this document."
